In Charlotte, NC, Charlie Sue surprised her sons, Austin and Ducky, with tickets to see the Red Sox, sending the boys running and crying in joy.
Why should Little Leaguers have all the fun?
Major League Baseball gets a piece of the action Sunday, Aug. 23 as the excitement and celebration that engulfs central Pennsylvania this time of year shines the spotlight on a pair of first-place MLB teams.
The Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers are set to meet at Historic Bowman Field in the 2026 Little League Classic.
Members of both teams will have a chance to check out some of the Little League World Series action during the afternoon, and then the LLWS participants will return the favor at the ninth annual MLB game in Williamsport.

This year’s game will feature the Milwaukee Brewers (81-49, first place in NL Central) vs. the Atlanta Braves (75-55, first place in NL East). Little League Classic always sounds like a fun idea.
So is this like the moms getting tickets for Little Leaguers or is it Braves vs Brewers for adults? The title makes it confusing. Either way I love that story about the boys running and crying, that’s adorable.
Wait it says Brewers vs Braves but then mentions Red Sox tickets in Charlotte?? I’m guessing they’re doing some crossover? Like maybe the Red Sox are actually playing and the headline is mixing it up. Also ESPN2 alumni-cast sounds like a commercial for old guys to talk about baseball.
Williamsport is always packed with kids so I’m not surprised MLB is jumping in. I just wish they’d stop making it sound like Players’ Weekend is the main thing, like the Little League kids are the extra. And $7:10 start time?? Why not earlier so families can actually go without driving in the dark.
