Brennan Elliott was back on Hallmark Channel Saturday night, June 27, stepping into a role that looks like romance and second chances—but sits on a much heavier personal timeline.
In A Castle of Our Own, Elliott stars opposite Erica Cerra. The film premiered on Hallmark Channel and begins streaming the next day on Hallmark+.
For Elliott, the premiere carries added weight: it’s his first Hallmark film since the death of his wife, Camilla Row. Row died in March 2025 following a battle with gastric cancer.
Speaking to People, Elliott opened up about what it means to return to work after losing someone he clearly never stops thinking about. “It’s tough to move forward when certain things happen to you, but you’ve got to keep plugging away. I feel like this is the next chapter of my life,” he said.
He also described how he feels when he’s preparing to act again—like he’s starting from scratch. “I feel like I am coming to set as a ‘blank canvas,’” Elliott told the outlet.
Grief, he said, hasn’t disappeared; it has simply changed shape. “Brennan said he’s ‘gone through the stages of grief’ and he’ll ‘always grieve’ his wife. ” People reports. with Elliott adding that he can hear Row’s encouragement in his head. “I’m really embracing and enjoying the process and the journey,” he said.
Elliott and Row share two children, Liam and Luna.
Row, a clinical psychologist, also became an advocate in the gastric cancer community after publicly sharing her own health journey—an effort Elliott’s return to Hallmark now folds back into public view.
In the new movie, Elliott plays Adam, a local contractor who becomes part of an emotional journey. The story centers on an overworked architect whose unexpected summer trip leads her to reconnect with her daughter and find love.
Professionally, A Castle of Our Own is another milestone. It marks Elliott’s 32nd Hallmark movie.
After Row’s death. Elliott previously praised his frequent Hallmark co-star Lacey Chabert for helping him get through “dark times.” Now. with the June 27 premiere and the June 28 Hallmark+ release. Elliott is back in front of the camera—carrying the loss with him. but choosing to build toward the next chapter anyway.

Hallmark really gonna act like that’s just another movie??
So he’s back after his wife passed, and it’s streaming right away? I’m happy for him but also like… man that’s gotta be weird to go from grief to romance scenes.
I saw something about gastric cancer and thought the wife died like instantly or something. Like I didn’t realize it was March 2025, I guess. Either way, going back to Hallmark seems too fast, but maybe that’s what they mean by stages of grief? Not sure.
A Castle of Our Own sounds like one of those ‘second chances’ plots… but honestly I keep thinking about Lacey Chabert helping him before and now he’s back with Erica Cerra. Like is the showrunner doing something with the cancer story? Probably not, I know, but still it feels like they’re bringing Camilla back into it somehow.
