After a game in Denver, Carson Pickett shared a special moment with a young fan who shares the same limb difference as her.
As a center back, Jacy doesn’t score many goals for Brazilian club Coritiba. So, when he found the back of the net, he wanted to make it count. But, it was a move that ended up being more than he bargained for.
After taking the ball and putting it under his shirt to celebrate an upcoming birth, Jacy leapt over the advertising boards to celebrate with the fans. What he didn’t realize, however, was that he was jumping into the great unknown – disappearing from fans’ view as he went directly into the tunnel housing the stairs to the locker rooms under the field.
After a few seconds of shock from supporters and his teammates, Jacy re-emerged with a stumble and kept celebrating what he thought was his second goal of the season.
Perhaps the worst part, however, is that the entire celebration turned out to be in vain, with the goal ruled offside after a video assistant referee intervention.
It was a moment that recalled a previous incident in 2014, when former Cameroon native Joel hopped over the end boards and went into the same tunnel.
Photos shared on social media after the incident showed that the retractable cover pulled back over the tunnel, protecting any future players who look to make the same leap Joel and now Jacy have made.
Jacy started the second half of the match this weekend but succumbed to injury in the 48th minute, adding to Coritiba’s injury crisis.
The “Coxa” were able to pull out a 2-1 win and sit 10th in the Brazilian Serie A table, while Chapecoense remains last.
