The timeline of what happened in Game 2 is stark. McNabb played a little more than five minutes before being hurt, then the night abruptly ended for him. The contrast with his usual workload has been noticeable all postseason—he is averaging nearly 20 minutes a game in the playoffs. His reputation has centered on his defense and penalty killing. but the offense has shown up too: he recorded three assists in the Golden Knights’ Game 1 win.

There’s also a second layer to his availability this postseason. McNabb has missed only one game so far—he sat out one contest after being suspended for one game for interference during the second round.

Those details create a simple picture from the facts: McNabb’s role has been consistent for most of the playoffs. his absence has been rare. and now he’s back on the ice guarded by a cage after an injury that sent him to the hospital. Whether that translates into him finishing the night in Game 3 comes down to what he can handle once the puck drops.

  1. The cage thing always freaks me out. Like they let him on the ice anyway?? Also I swear visor injuries happen all the time and then everyone acts surprised.

  2. I don’t get it, they said “official game-time decision” but he’s literally warming up already so it’s not really a decision lol. Ehlers just blasted him in the visor too, that’s wild. Hope he’s okay though

  3. Wait was he hit in the visor or did he just trip? The article jumps around. But either way cages are supposed to prevent broken faces right? I also saw somewhere he was suspended for like the whole series not just one game, so idk what’s true. If he plays, I’m assuming they’re trying to rush him back after the hospital thing.
