Amber Suchomel—who goes by Amber Hana Lorraine on social media—published her first public statement since Clarke’s passing. describing the shock of a life she now has to live without him.
Suchomel posted on Instagram. writing. “There are no words to describe this feeling.” She added. “I never thought I’d have to live life without you. I’m not really sure how to do this without you by my side. You were the most special person, with the biggest heart. You made an impact on so many people, but most of all me. I have never felt so loved and cared for. you made me feel like the most special girl in the world.”.
Her message turned to the man she knew beyond the court. She praised Clarke for being “so impressive” in “everything you were passionate about. ” including his seven-year basketball career and his venture as a music artist. In the same post. she also referenced their relationship milestones. sharing an Instagram gallery of several photos of her and Clarke—an image from when he proposed to her. and a note marking when he asked her to be his girlfriend.
“All I want is to hug you and kiss you and to hold you in my arms. I don’t know how to process that you aren’t here anymore. I love you always Brandon, forever and always,” Suchomel wrote. “Please keep watching over me, I need you.”
The post came with a sign of sudden privacy after grief became public: Suchomel has since made her Instagram profile private.
When word first broke about Clarke’s death, tributes moved quickly across the NBA. Commissioner Adam Silver offered condolences, and Clarke’s Grizzlies teammate Ja Morant said the 29-year-old was “gone way too soon.”
But for all the public mourning, the circumstances of Clarke’s death are still not closed. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office says the case remains open. NBC 4 Los Angeles reported that responders found drug paraphernalia at the home where Clarke was found dead. and that his death is being investigated as a possible overdose.

Wait so it was like… days before she posted? That seems messed up.
My heart goes out to her, for real. But the article says possible overdose and there’s paraphernalia?? Memphis really be wild. I don’t know why they keep it “open” like that, just tell us.
So is she saying he was clean or what? Like the music artist thing and the basketball and then drug paraphernalia… doesn’t add up to me. I feel like people posting pics of proposals while the investigation is open is gonna cause drama no matter what.
This is so sad. I’m confused though—if the medical examiner says it’s open, does that mean he didn’t die for sure? And if NBC 4 said overdose, why wouldn’t the case be closed already? Also she made her IG private after posting which is probably normal, but people will still speculate anyway.
