Boston FIFA Fan Festival delayed by high winds Friday

Boston FIFA – Boston’s FIFA Fan Festival at Government Center was set to open at 2 p.m. Friday, but high winds pushed the start back for a second straight day. Officials have not announced a new opening time.

For the second day in a row, Boston’s FIFA Fan Festival was thrown off by the wind.

The free event at Government Center had been scheduled to open at 2 p.m. Friday. but it was delayed due to high winds. according to an announcement posted on the official FIFA World Cup Boston 2026 X page. Officials have not yet announced a new opening time. “Updates to follow,” the announcement read. “Thank you for your patience. Other watch parties are available across Boston.”.

This is not the first disruption. Thursday’s FIFA Fan Festival was canceled because of high winds and public safety concerns.

The festival, which is free, runs through June 27. It has been set up as a hub for soccer fans looking to watch livestreamed World Cup matches and to enjoy performances from local artists.

With winds still dictating whether the doors open, organizers are asking fans to stay alert for the next update—while pointing them to other watch parties across the city.
