Blanche Warns of “Roadblocks” Against Future Trump Prosecutions

Blanche warns – Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche told an interview on Friday that Democrats may not be able to investigate or prosecute Trump administration officials after the 2026 and 2028 elections. Pressed on what he would do to limit future Democratic actions, Blanch
Todd Blanche’s answer landed with a chill—less about the past than about the future.
In a Friday joint interview with FBI Director Kash Patel on NewsNation. the acting attorney general was asked whether he planned to blunt any actions Democrats might take against Trump administration officials if the party regained power in the 2026 and 2028 elections. Blanche didn’t dodge the question. “Do I believe it’s a possibility that the Democrats will go after President Trump. his family. anybody that knows him. anyone that worked for him?. I think they’ve proven that to be true,” he said.
Then he pivoted to what he called a strategy for preventing a repeat of what he characterized as past abuse. “And what can we do about it, is we can just keep exposing. When we learn about the weaponization that happened for many years. we can keep on exposing it and putting roadblocks in place so it never happens again.”.
Blanche added that he does not worry about what could happen to him. Instead, he said he was focused on what could happen to the country. He did not spell out what those “roadblocks” would be, or how they would work.
The warning matters because many Democratic lawmakers have framed potential future oversight as a priority. pointing to alleged crimes by Trump administration figures while the party was out of power. Among them is Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker. who told The New York Times in March that “people in this administration who’ve broken the law” should be “criminally prosecuted. civilly prosecuted.”.
The Blanche interview unfolded against a backdrop of steps President Donald Trump’s administration has taken since retaking office to protect allies and supporters. whom the administration says had been targeted by the Biden Justice Department. Those steps include Trump pardoning nearly 1,600 people charged or convicted in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection.
The administration has also attempted to create an “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” an effort that, after bipartisan pushback, the administration has since seemingly backed off from.
Within that pattern, Blanche’s phrase—“roadblocks”—sits at the center of a new political conflict: what happens when one side argues it was the victim of “weaponization,” and the other side insists that alleged wrongdoing should still be investigated and prosecuted.
This week, Trump said he would nominate Blanche for the Senate’s consideration for the position of attorney general. Blanche has been acting attorney general since Pam Bondi was fired in April.

Roadblocks?? Sounds like they’re already scared.
Wait so Democrats can’t even investigate after 2026/2028? That sounds like a loophole or something. I don’t even get it, but it feels bad.
So Kash Patel and Todd Blanche are like “don’t worry about it” but also talking about preventing Democrats from going after Trump people? That’s basically admitting they’ll obstruct oversight. Also why is this NewsNation interview even a big deal, isn’t the FBI director like… not supposed to do politics?
I think this is just retaliation talk tbh. Like “we’ll keep exposing” but somehow the roadblocks means no one can touch them. Pritzker wants prosecutions and Blanche wants protection… so what happens to the normal citizens in the middle? Also I heard “weaponization” and immediately thought they’re talking about spying again, idk.
