A minister inspected key road projects under the Big Push initiative across the northern belt, urging contractors to speed up delays.
The inspection covered several key road corridors and infrastructure works aimed at improving connectivity and easing transportation challenges in the northern belt of the country.. During the tour, the Minister expressed general satisfaction with the pace of work on most of the projects.. However, he urged contractors who are falling behind schedule to accelerate their work to meet agreed timelines.. Among the projects inspected were the upgrading of the Tumu–Han–Lawra road, the Tumu–Sissili–Navrongo road, and the Tumu–Chuchuliga–Navrongo corridor.. Other projects included the partial reconstruction of the Navrongo–Chuchuliga–Sandema road, as well as the construction of bridges over the Kanyibie and Bechelihu rivers.. The Big Push initiative forms part of government’s broader infrastructure development agenda aimed at improving road networks, boosting economic activity, and enhancing access to communities in the Upper West and Upper East Regions.
