Becky G is opening up about her recent experience working with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.

During an interview on Apple Music’s Zane Lowe Show on Monday, Aug. 17, Becky was asked what it was like recording “Te Olvido (La La)” with the couple.

“It’s more than cool. It’s beautiful,” Becky, 29, said of her experience working with Gomez, who’s also Mexican-American.

“I was texting Benny the other day and I just continue to reiterate to him how really thankful I am to have been invited to be on his album,” she said of Blanco, 38.

Reflecting on their friendship, Becky said that the producer has seen her “through various different seasons in my artistry.”

“[He] has always just been this person who very early on I remember meeting this character, this personality that I would never forget,” she said.

Blanco released the cumbia-inspired track on July 31, and it was featured on his latest studio album Hermoso. The trio also teamed up for a music video filmed around Santee Alley in Los Angeles.

“It was so sick — so sick to be a part of and such a fun day on set,” she said. “I was doing my own stunts… I was going to say by choice but not according to Benny. Everybody’s got to do their own stunts.”

Following the music video’s release, Becky shared a clip on Instagram and captioned the post:
“Cheers to getting to third wheel the chillest couple on the 🌎”

In addition to her feature on Blanco’s album, Becky released her brand-new album Baraja Bendita on Friday, Aug. 14. In a press release for the announcement, Becky said the album was about “trusting myself enough to stop choosing between different parts of who I am.”

“For so long, people wanted to define me by one thing: one language, one sound, one version of myself. This album isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about fully owning every part of who I’ve always been,” she continued.

The singer-songwriter is also on the road as a special guest on Karol G’s Viajando Por el Mundo Tropitour.
