Beckhams Honor Brooklyn on Father’s Day After Family Tensions

When David Beckham shared his Father’s Day post on Instagram, he didn’t skip the name that’s been at the center of recent family tension.

In the tribute, the former soccer star included photos of his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, who is 27. David wrote. “Being a dad is my most important job… I love you all & thank you mummy @victoriabeckham For giving me our beautiful family. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads around the world. ” in a caption that also marked his gratitude to Victoria Beckham.

Victoria Beckham followed with her own message on her page—also featuring Brooklyn. She wrote. “David you truly are the best daddy .Your greatest achievement has always been our beautiful children and we love you so much.Happy Father’s Day.” In her post. Victoria included a photo of David posing at the beach with all four of their kids: Romeo. 23; Cruz. 21; Harper. 14; and Brooklyn.

The timing lands in a moment when Brooklyn’s relationship with his parents has been anything but simple. Days before the Father’s Day posts, Brooklyn made a jab at his family in a DoorDash ad connected to the World Cup.

In the commercial, Brooklyn sits on a couch in his home while a soccer match plays in the background. “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. ” he says with a giggle. before adding. “It’s a long story.” He then gets up and tosses several World Cup tickets onto his coffee table. The ad closes with “It’s complicated. More soon” written across the screen.

Back in January, Brooklyn—who is the eldest son of retired pro soccer player David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham—released a lengthy statement about his family issues. He explained why he doesn’t want to repair his broken relationship with his parents and siblings.

The shift from that public, fractured tone to David and Victoria’s decision to spotlight Brooklyn in their Father’s Day messages feels deliberate, especially with the DoorDash ad still fresh.

For now, the posts serve as a reminder of how public family stories can move in opposite directions at the same time—one side choosing togetherness in a holiday caption, the other choosing ambiguity and a promise to share more later.
