Barry Manilow had to cancel his concert in Lexington, Kentucky at the last minute today.

The legendary 83-year-old singer was scheduled to perform one of his “Last Shows” concerts at the Rupp Arena on Tuesday night (August 4), but the show was canceled at the last minute.

Barry‘s team has promised that the show will be rescheduled at a later date.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s show in Lexington has been rescheduled,” his team said in a statement posted at 6:19pm ET, just 41 minutes before the concert was supposed to begin.

The Rupp Arena added in a tweet, “Due to unexpected and unforeseen circumstances, the Barry Manilow concert scheduled for tonight, August 4 at Rupp Arena is postponed. All previously purchased tickets will be honored at the new date once it is announced.”

A Twitter user noted that people were at the arena already and “so many still waiting around thinking it is on.”

Ticketmaster now lists the show as postponed as well. Details note, “Please hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new date. You can locate your tickets by signing in to your online account. If your event is eligible for a refund or credit, those options will be visible within the Event Details of your order.”

Earlier this year, Barry postponed shows while recovering from lung cancer surgery and he recently shared fears about his voice.
