After weeks of speculation, the handheld went on sale with a starting price of $269. It keeps the same 3.5-inch 960×640 LCD, yet the rest of the package leans into upgrades where it counts. AYANEO says the Pocket Micro 2 now uses a more capable Snapdragon 865 chipset, promising a 220% performance bump over the last-gen model. The company also confirms a larger 3. 950mAh battery—up from the first-gen Pocket Micro’s 2. 600mAh capacity—aimed squarely at improving battery life.
The trade-off is physical. The Pocket Micro 2 measures 162×67.8×18mm and weighs 248 grams, which is larger and heavier than the first-gen model’s 233 grams and 156×63×18mm exterior dimensions. AYANEO hasn’t tried to hide the reason: the upgraded battery takes up space.
AYANEO’s other changes are the kind you feel in everyday use. The Pocket Micro 2 gets upgraded shoulder buttons and D-Pad, along with larger ABXY keys. It also includes recessed dual TMR joysticks. The L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons are designed with different heights. making them easier to find—and easier to avoid accidental presses.
Buyers will have multiple storage and color options. The Pocket Micro 2 is available in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB versions in Midnight Black and Frosty White. There’s also a limited-edition Stardust Purple colorway, reserved for the 8GB/256GB version. Pricing is straightforward: the base model sells for $269. the 256GB version is $309 in the US. and the limited-edition Stardust Purple model costs $339. AYANEO is additionally running a $30 discount on all three variants as part of its launch offer.
On the practical side, AYANEO includes a microSD card slot for storage expansion, retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, and keeps modern connectivity with Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi‑Fi 6. The handheld runs Android out of the box, though AYANEO does not specify the exact version.
