Late Roseanne Gaffney The staff, children and parents of Scoil Mhaodhoig Poulfur were deeply saddened by the news of the death of one of the school’s teachers, Roseanne Gaffney last Thursday. A very popular member of the staff, Roseanne passed away after a long battle with illness. Sympathy is extended to
her husband, children, family and friends on their sad loss. On The Hook This year’s On the Hook book is currently available in Dillon’s Londis and other shops in the neighbouring parishes. Full of the usual mix of interesting articles and photos it is great value for money. St. Mogues Academy St. Mogues Academy formerly Cúl ógs started back on Saturday 16th May at 10am to 11am in Ramstown. Registration is available on Foireann for both boys & girls aged 4-6yrs. Clothes Collection Poulfur Parents Council will have their next clothes collection on Friday 12th June between 8am and 10am. Drop off point is Scoil Mhaodhoig Poulfur. Summer is coming so its a great time for
a clear out. Country Markets Their next Market Day will be Saturday Saturday 6th June from 10.30 to 12 noon in The Hall, Fethard, the market will continue for summer months until last market on Saturday 29th August. Other markets will take place on the following dates Saturday 24th October and Sunday 29th November. GRAIGUENAMANAGH Bus to Knock pilgrimage Bishop Denis Nulty invites you to join with him and parishioners from across the Diocese at the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock on Sunday, June 7. Ceremonies begin at 2.30pm in the Basilica. Mass, Confessions and Eucharistic Adoration will take place throughout the day. The bus will depart from the Ferry Bridge at 6.15am, Drummond 6.30am, Glynn 6.35am, Newtown 6.40am, Courtmellon 6.50am and Birr 7am. Tickets cost €30 per

St, Graiguenamanagh on Monday evenings at 6.30 p.m. On 6th June 1926 thousands of people from the parish and beyond congregated in Ballycullane for the unveiling of a large celtic cross in the church grounds to commemorate the five local men who had died in the St Kearns explosion almost six years earlier. The men had been making bombs in an unoccupied house in support of the War of Independence. The monument was unveiled by Wexford native and proud republican, Dr James Ryan TD. This
monument was moved from its position inside the churchyard entrance around 1970 when the church underwent major renovation work. The St Kearns Commemoration Committee have now erected a monumental stone with similar wording at the original site of the celtic cross and they will hold an unveiling ceremony on Sunday 7th June. Descendents of Dr James Ryan will be present for the occasion. All are welcome to come along for 3pm to witness this second unveiling, one hundred years on from the original. The annual
Patron and Blessing of the Graves takes place in Gusserane this year on Saturday 27th June. Golf Classic Gusserane GAA club’s annual golf classic takes place this year in New Ross Golf Club on Friday 17th July. A valuable fundraiser for the club, it also gives past and present players and members a chance to catch up in what is a hugely important social event each year. Split the Pot Winner of the recent Split the Pot draw in aid of St Leonards soccer club
was John Ryan who collects €440. There was no jackpot winner in the recent Tintern Lotto draw when the numbers drawn were 16, 20, 22 and 24. The match three winner who collects €400 was Dick Finn of Kinnagh. The jackpot now reaches a massive €18,950.
