Arike Ogunbowale fires 22 as Wings sink Aces 96-66

Arike Ogunbowale scored 22 points with five 3-pointers as the Dallas Wings rolled to a 96-66 win over the Las Vegas Aces on Monday night at Arlington, Texas—extending their home winning streak to five straight.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Arike Ogunbowale didn’t just keep the Dallas offense moving Monday night. She hit it from long range early, then stayed accurate as the Dallas Wings built a lead that never truly felt threatened.

Ogunbowale scored 22 points and made five 3-pointers. helping the Wings beat the Las Vegas Aces 96-66 for their fifth straight home win. Jessica Shepard followed with 15 points. 15 rebounds and nine assists in a performance that touched every part of the game—scoring. controlling the glass. and setting up teammates.

Dallas started fast, scoring 29 points in the first quarter. By 3:13 remaining in the first half. the Wings held a 28-point lead before Las Vegas closed the gap with a 9-0 run to make it 56-37 at the break. Shepard was already putting together a dominant stat line by halftime, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Ogunbowale and Azzi Fudd each had 11 points.

The third quarter changed the rhythm. Paige Bueckers ended Dallas’ six-minute field-goal drought—spanning halftime—when she hit a 3-pointer early in the frame to put the Wings up 59-39. From there, Dallas led by double figures for the entire second half.

Fudd finished with 19 points, and Bueckers added 10 points and seven assists for the Wings (9-5). Awak Kuier, who made her first start for Dallas since Sept. 5, 2023, scored seven points in 27 minutes.

Shepard’s night had another milestone baked into it: she moved into a tie with Angel Reese for the most double-doubles in the WNBA this season with nine. She was subbed out with 4:41 remaining in the fourth.

Jewell Loyd provided a spark for Las Vegas off the bench, scoring 21 points and knocking down five 3-pointers. A’ja Wilson added 18 points for the Aces (10-4), while Chelsea Gray was scoreless in 29 minutes. Jackie Young scored six points on 3-of-13 shooting.

It was also a reminder of how quickly these teams can swing back toward earlier form: in their first meeting this season on May 28, Shepard recorded 22 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists as the Wings beat the Aces 95-87.

Dallas and Las Vegas will meet again on Wednesday, with the Aces traveling to Phoenix and the Wings playing at Golden State.

The numbers from Monday night tell the story in a simple way: once Dallas got the lead into the 20s, Las Vegas never found enough consistency to reverse it—then Bueckers’ spark out of the halftime drought made the distance too much to claw back.
