Ariana Madix Denies Rigged Vote Claims After Elimination

After Love Island USA viewers accused the voting process of being rigged following Thursday, June 18’s shocking elimination, Ariana Madix responded directly—pushing back on conspiracy talk, pointing viewers to voting, and addressing how previous technical glit
Ariana Madix didn’t wait for the next episode to address the noise. After Thursday, June 18, Love Island USA viewers looked on as Caleb McDaniel and Sol Dean weren’t announced as a top couple—despite an online push for the season 8 bombshells—and the backlash spilled onto social media.
The criticism quickly turned sharp. Madix replied to an Instagram comment that said, “They @loveislandusa messing up the show.” In her response, the host wrote that “Unfortunately, they were not in the top 4.”
She also engaged with another point being circulated online: that production “legally” can’t tamper with results. Madix “liked” that comment, even as speculation kept growing around the voting.
The stakes felt personal to fans because the fallout didn’t stop at couples rankings. After a group vote, Sol and Gabriel Vasconcelos ended up dumped from the villa. The sequence left viewers frustrated with the way the elimination unfolded—especially after America’s vote had already chosen favorite couples and the bottom three were left at risk of elimination. In that setup. the remaining girls decided which guy would go home. and the remaining guys decided which girl would go home.
That voting structure is exactly where distrust takes root. Each time viewers feel a favorite didn’t land in the right place—top four, safe, bottom three—the question becomes whether the system reflected their choices or something else.
Madix has stepped in before when conspiracy talk flared. In June 2025. she slammed insinuations that the show was “rigged. ” telling The Wrap. “You can have whatever opinions you want to have about the show itself. but I will tell you: Don’t you start making up conspiracies.” She added. “I’m not a conspiracy theorist. so I’m the debunker.”.
At the time. she also denied that any Islanders were coming into the villa with a plan on how to win. “As much as someone might try to gamify the show for themselves while they’re in there as an Islander. you cannot for 24 hours a day. ” she said. “It’s nearly impossible to really be able to fully keep that mask on at all times.”.
This time, she pushed viewers back toward the only lever they control: voting. “Ariana encouraged viewers to show their enthusiasm by voting. ” the post’s message emphasized. including her line that if America feels a certain way about certain Islanders. “they do get their say.” She also warned against the idea of someone gaming the process—saying that if a player becomes convinced they’ve “super gamify[ed] everything. ” they could be left stunned “when they find out that they’re in the bottom.”.
Her replies also landed in a moment when fans already knew how quickly the show’s voting mechanics can become a headline—because technical problems have happened before. Season 8 already saw voting drama earlier this month when users were met with a message that read “network error” after opening the Love Island application on their phones.
The show’s official Instagram account posted an initial voting instruction that read: “Vote tonight to choose which Islanders the new Bombshells — Sol. Jen and Caleb — should couple up with!” It added that voting opens at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT and closes at 1 a.m. E.T./10 p.m. PT, with voting open in the U.S. only and a “Link in our bio.”.
After voting closed, Love Island USA posted another update addressing the registration problem. The message said, “For those of you experiencing issues registering to vote, we apologize for the inconvenience. Our team is actively working on it. Stay tuned for updates.”
A further clarification followed after the app crashed. “Your overwhelming enthusiasm for America’s first vote caused the app to crash. But don’t worry, we are extending the voting window until 3 pm ET / 12pm PT on Wednesday, June 10!” read the new post.
For viewers, that history matters because it gives context to why elimination results can feel like they come with an asterisk—especially when a rigged-vote theory becomes more believable the moment frustration spikes.
Madix’s current stance is blunt: she’s asking the audience to stop turning disappointment into conspiracy. But for Love Island fans already raw from Thursday’s elimination. the bigger question isn’t whether the show insists it’s fair—it’s why their confidence wobbles so quickly whenever the top four. the bottom three. and the dumping feel connected to something they can’t fully see.

Rigged how, like they just decide the boot first??
I don’t buy it’s “not rigged” just because she says so. If the votes already picked favorites then why are people still getting sent home?? Sounds like the producers still have some control, even if it’s “legal.”
Wait so it’s the girls choosing the guys and the guys choosing the girls? That’s kinda literally rigging in my opinion lol. Also Caleb and Sol not top 4 is exactly what happens when everyone bots the vote…
She denied it but she also didn’t exactly explain anything. Like “they weren’t in the top 4” okay but how do we even know the top 4 part wasn’t messed with. And I saw a comment saying production can’t tamper legally, but companies “can’t” tamper all the time, right? Idk. I just wanted Sol to stay.
