Apple Music’s 10-year metric crowns top 20 streamed artists

Ahead of Apple Music’s birthday, a Chart Data social post—amplified by Apple Music’s own account—puts Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande, and Kendrick Lamar among Apple Music’s top 20 most streamed artists of all time.

Taylor Swift. Bad Bunny. Ariana Grande. and Kendrick Lamar are sitting near the top of Apple Music’s all-time streaming conversation again. This time, the moment didn’t come from a polished in-app campaign. It arrived as a social-media metric shared by Chart Data—and then reposted by Apple Music’s own account.

Apple Music launched on June 30, 2015, and it marked its 10-year streaming milestone with a top 500 songs list. A year later. the streamer has shared a new metric: a chart listing the top 20 artists of all time on Apple Music. The post was shared on social media, and Apple Music reposted it and responded with a heart and trophy emoji.

The reason for the timing isn’t spelled out. But the story lands close to Apple Music’s birthday, and the list reads like it could have been expected by anyone who doesn’t “live under the proverbial rock.”

The top 20 artists listed are Drake; Taylor Swift; Future; Youngboy Never Broke Again; Bad Bunny; Lil Baby; The Weeknd; Morgan Wallen; Kanye West; Post Malone; Travis Scott; Ariana Grande; Chris Brown; Kendrick Lamar; Lil Durk; Gunna; Rod Wave; Ed Sheeran; Justin Bieber; and Eminem.

Apple isn’t promoting the list on Apple Music—at least not yet. If you want the older commemorative material, the top 500 songs playlist is still available. For casual listeners. the immediate takeaway is simple: the artists showing up across Apple Music’s biggest numbers are heavily weighted toward rap and pop. and many people already recognize the names.

The list also adds a new reference point alongside Apple Music Replay. Unlike Spotify Wrapped, it’s updated monthly, and the piece notes that your 2026 Replay is already available.

In the background, the only thing as loud as the names is the contrast in approach: a big milestone chart doesn’t arrive as a headline inside the app. It shows up first as a social post, and then, with a heart and trophy emoji from Apple Music itself, it becomes an unmistakable endorsement.
