Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid laughed off questions about whether he’ll attend Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding to Taylor Swift, saying he can’t talk about the ceremony and insisting Kelce has stayed focused on football.
For days, reporters have pressed Andy Reid on one topic hovering above the Kansas City Chiefs offseason: Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding plans with Taylor Swift.
Reid was asked this week whether he’ll be attending the ceremony. He didn’t give anything away. “Can’t talk about it, can’t talk about it,” Reid said with a laugh, via Nate Taylor of ESPN. Then he pivoted back to what he knows—football, and the way Kelce has been operating since the offseason.
Reid pointed to the work Kelce has already done. “Listen, [Kelce’s] been here most of the offseason, if not the whole offseason. He did the mandatory camp and did a nice job there, so it’s good to have him back in and rolling. He’s very excited.”
When the questions returned to what the wedding might mean for the Chiefs tight end, Reid made the point he wanted—no distractions.
“You see no distractions with that and the wedding,” Reid said. “If it’s like when I got married, my wife did everything. I just kind of followed her lead on it [and] showed up. Maybe he’s doing more, but he looks like he’s pretty focused in on this job here, too.”
The timing of Reid’s comments comes as reports have emerged in recent days that the wedding is set to take place in New York City, possibly at Madison Square Garden. If that’s accurate, the stakes for the timeline get even higher.
It also puts a spotlight on Taylor Swift’s appearance at Game 4 of the Spurs–Knicks series. Her presence wasn’t only framed as a stop to see a major basketball matchup “for the ages.” It also came with a quieter storyline: she was checking out the venue.
Reid’s message was clear enough on its own. He wouldn’t discuss the ceremony, but he did make sure everyone understood what he’s seeing right now from Kelce—focused, prepared, and already back in the swing of the season.

I don’t get why they keep asking about a wedding like it’s football strategy. If he can’t talk about it, then don’t ask? Also Madison Square Garden makes it sound kinda huge.
Reid said no distractions but you know Swift being there is gonna distract somebody. Like even if Kelce is focused, Taylor in NYC near the venue and all that… come on. Are they saying the wedding is actually at MSG? Because I thought it was like a rumor.
This whole thing is messy. First it’s ‘can’t talk about it’ then it’s ‘he’s been here most of the offseason’ like that proves anything. And Taylor Swift at Game 4… wasn’t Game 4 already last week? I swear these sports calendars are impossible. If it’s at Madison Square Garden then I guess Travis just gonna pop in and out during training camp? Idk.
