Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages suffered a left-hand fracture during the series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday, Aug 21, manager Dave Roberts revealed after the Dodgers’ 5-4 win in 10 innings.

Pages was hit by a 100.2 mph sinker thrown by Pirates right-handed pitcher Bubba Chandler in the third inning.

Pages did not initially leave the game after he was visited by Roberts and a trainer. The All-Star remained in the game before officially leaving in the fifth inning. He was replaced in center field by Kiké Hernández.

Roberts told reporters postgame that Pages has a hand fracture.

“X-rays unfortunately came up as a fracture so he’ll be out for a while,” Roberts said.

Roberts said Pages’ injury is “not season ending” but he expects Pages to be out 4-5 weeks.

“… I would expect him back. Knowing him, on the earlier side. But it’s going to be four weeks but there’s still time in the season for him to be back,” Roberts said.
