Andy Cohen Says Summer House Reunion Hit Hard

Andy Cohen opened up about how emotionally charged the Summer House season 10 reunion became—calling it among the most tense the show has ever had—while Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s romance drama continues to reshape the group.
Andy Cohen walked into the Summer House reunion ready to steer a conversation—but he didn’t walk out the same.
The 58-year-old Watch What Happens Live host said the reunion ranked among the “top 10 most tense reunions that we’ve had. ” telling Us Weekly and guests at the Newport Beach TV Fest Present’s Variety’s Creative Impact in TV Award to Andy Cohen event on Friday. June 5. He pointed viewers toward “next week’s episode,” saying it would make the intensity clearer.
Cohen described the emotional damage in plain terms. “This is a real group and there was real emotional fallout among this group,” he said. “It’s [that] this group is rocked and devastated and it’s very real and it was very emotional.”
He added that he even “left” the reunion “truly spent,” despite not being “in it” the way the cast members were during filming.
The reason the reunion landed so hard. Cohen suggested. wasn’t just what happened between Amanda Batula and West Wilson—it was how the fallout spread through everyone watching it unfold in real time. He said the story. at its core. became less about the timeline and more about “the betrayal and the feelings and how it affected the group.”.
For Cohen, the most visible sign of the reunion’s emotional weight was Jesse Solomon. “I mean. there was Jesse Solomon — [he] spent the good chunk of the last 25 minutes [of the reunion] sitting there. kind of crying for real. He was very shaken and so I guess it was the emotion that really stood out to me.”.
Cohen also teased that viewers will get more clarity in part 2 of the Summer House season 10 reunion. During the Tuesday. June 2. episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. he said “There’s a lot of new information that comes out that kind of advances the story forward.” He clarified that his role on set was more practical than personal: “I was just. you know. directing the conversation.”.
The heat around Amanda and West’s connection has been building for months. News broke in March that Amanda and West’s once platonic relationship had turned romantic in the wake of Amanda’s split from her estranged husband Kyle Cooke. while West’s previous relationship with Amanda’s former BFF. Ciara Miller. also sat in the background of the drama.
In the official teaser of the three-part reunion, West told Cohen, “This isn’t, like, a sex scandal. It was. like. hanging out.” In another moment from the reunion. Ciara confronted Amanda directly. saying. “Over the past six years. I have been your f***ing champion. ” adding. “I couldn’t fathom that I would be sitting here pissed that you’re f***ing my ex.”.
Even with the reunion’s emotional chaos. an insider told Us in May that the romance between West and Amanda is “only growing stronger.” That source said. “West and Amanda are still dating. ” while also noting that “the cast doesn’t think they’re going to last.” The insider added that in May. “West took Amanda to meet his parents already. ” suggesting the relationship is “getting serious.”.
Despite the stakes on screen, Cohen said he wasn’t nervous heading into filming. “I felt the weight of it in the same way that I was in,” he said. “I was leaning in, I was hyped, I was energized — I wasn’t nervous.”
Still. he admitted that the intensity can get to him sometimes—especially in the moments leading up to the bigger confrontations. “Sometimes I get nervous. you know. when I went in and talked to Ciara before the Summer House reunion. and then I went in and talked to West and Amanda. ” he said. “I get nervous for that a little bit, because it’s intense.”.
And according to Cohen, it wasn’t just any reunion. “It’s intense, being on a reunion, if you had a normal season,” he said. “This was so elevated and intense.”

Summer House reunions are always messy lol.
Wait so Andy Cohen said Jesse was crying?? I thought this was scripted, like they do for ratings. But apparently people really get “betrayed” or whatever. Next week’s episode better explain it.
I don’t even watch Summer House like that but I saw Amanda and West and now everyone’s acting like it’s some huge tragedy. Andy saying it’s “top 10 most tense” is kinda hilarious when it’s reality TV. Also why does Jesse have to be the emotion spotlight… like was he crying because of what they did or because cameras were there? Seems obvious to me though.
This is what I hate about these shows, like one couple drama and suddenly everybody’s “rocked and devastated.” Andy says he left “spent” but he wasn’t even in it… so how bad can it be? I bet it was mostly about something that happened way before the reunion and they’re just rehashing it for the storyline. The part about “betrayal” sounded like production speak tbh.
