Amerie’s $5,735 Monthly Income Exposed in Divorce

Amerie’s $5,735 – Amerie’s estimated monthly income of $5,735 was revealed in her bitter divorce case against Lenny Nicholson. The judgment also details property and custody outcomes, child support, and a sharp fight over unpaid commissions, expenses, and alleged uses of a mark
Amerie’s divorce from Lenny Nicholson has turned sharply concrete—down to the figures laid out in the court’s judgment.
The case, filed after years of personal and professional entanglement, says the couple did not own any real property or joint bank accounts. In the split, Amerie walked away with her music-related businesses—Amerie Inc., Cer One Touring, and Mi Suk Publishing—along with a 2016 Range Rover.
The judge ordered Nicholson to turn over Amerie’s TV tracks and an external hard drive containing her music files that were in his possession.
Financially, the judgment set child support at $2,298 per month, with Amerie awarded primary physical custody of their son. Nicholson received parenting time every third weekend.
The court also put a number on what each side claimed they could afford. The final judgment lists Amerie’s estimated monthly income as $5,735, while Nicholson’s income was listed as $10,000 a month.
The marriage timeline has been contested through the filings. Amerie listed the date of marriage as June 25, 2011, and said they had been separated since April 2024, calling the marriage “irretrievably broken.” She said they have one son together.
Nicholson’s response painted a different picture of who did what—and why money never fully changed hands. He said he was Amerie’s manager. tour producer. performance director. and business strategist for over 20 years. and claimed he did not receive full compensation for his work during the marriage. That dispute included allegations about a cut of Amerie’s music royalties, merchandise, and book publishing.
Nicholson also asked the court to see April 2024 as the turning point. He claimed Amerie abandoned the marital home in April 2024 while he was recovering from surgery. He said he was forced to cover her rent totaling $44K, along with other expenses.
In his filing, he alleged she spent $20K for cosmetic surgery and took luxury trips to Mexico and Jamaica. He further claimed Amerie resumed her music career after abandoning him and argued she was using his 18-week marketing plan without credit.
Nicholson’s requests went beyond reimbursement. He asked the court to award him $1.75 million in unpaid commissions, $150K in damages for her verbal attacks and emotional distress, spousal support, and more.
The judgment did not resolve every dispute in the same way both sides described them, but it did lock in several key outcomes: the split of assets, the handover of the music materials in Nicholson’s possession, and a child support amount tied to the income numbers the judge calculated.
Amerie first publicly revealed the breakup in June 2025 during an interview, before the divorce judgment’s details came into focus.
