Alix Earle isn’t exactly chasing romance in her comfort zone—she’s steering away from it.
On the Thursday (May 21) episode of her YouTube show “Get Real with Me,” the 25-year-old influencer sat down with Quenlin Blackwell, also 25, for a conversation about relationships, maturity, and dating older men.
The discussion started when Quenlin shared a story about an ex and said, “As you age, you realize people aren’t supposed to act like that.” That line landed with Alix, who asked whether the person was older.
“I don’t date guys my age,” the I Love LA actress admitted.
Alix then got more specific about what happens when she tries. She said she recently went out with a man a year older than her—only to decide it wasn’t for her.
“I went on a date with a guy who was a year older than me. I can’t do it again. That’s never happening,” she said.
For Alix, the difference wasn’t just age—it was the feeling of the relationship itself. “It didn’t feel like I was with like a man. I want someone to take care of me,” she added.
Even when she leans into the older-man lane, Alix acknowledged it doesn’t come without its own awkward moments. She joked that sometimes she goes too far the other way and finds herself thinking, “Grandpa!”
The comments come as Alix continues to be open with fans about getting back into dating following her split from Braxton Berrios, 30. Since then, she’s shared updates on TikTok about where things stand and how she’s approaching her next chapter.
