The discount grocer is rolling out the mystery-box trend through its online platform. offering customers a themed box for free—only for a limited window and while supplies last. Aldi says new boxes will go live every day from June 22 to June 25 at 11 a.m. with more than 100 boxes given away per drop on a first-come. first-served basis.

In Topeka, the physical pickup question hits a snag.
The Capital-Journal visited Aldi locations at 105 SW 29th St. and 1530 SW Arvonia Place to ask about participation. Store managers at both locations said they hadn’t been notified about any in-store participation for the blind boxes.
If you can’t pick one up locally, the online steps remain the plan. Aldi also directs shoppers to its Instagram page for social-media users to see which theme is coming next.
The four themes named for the boxes are:

The blind box giveaway arrives as Aldi also experiments with how stores look and operate in the United States. Some shoppers may notice changes, including new signage and pricing language and updated visuals, as Aldi South tests a redesigned store format.
Aldi says the updates are part of a broader effort by Aldi South to give stores a more consistent look worldwide. The company is working with Australian design and brand consultant agency Landini Associates on a format designed to be adapted for different countries, including the United States.
Aldi describes its current stores as offering everyday essentials in “smaller. more sustainable spaces. ” with product packaging designed to double as displays—an approach the company says is intended to save time. labor and costs. But Forbes reports the new model is designed to be more flexible. allowing Aldi to test different layouts and formats. potentially including smaller. corner-store-style locations.
That flexibility could matter for how the company enters tighter urban areas or smaller markets.
For Topekans trying to catch the blind box this week, the practical deadline is simple: June 22 through June 25, with each drop opening at 11 a.m. Topeka time on AldiBlindBox.com, while supplies last.

So it’s free but you have to put your shipping info in? Sounds kinda sketchy lol
Wait I thought you can just go in the store and pick it up. They said Topeka stores weren’t notified about pickup, so are people just stuck? Seems like a mess if it’s first-come first-served at 11.
Yeah that part is weird. Like if it’s only for online then why mention the store address at all. Also 100 boxes isn’t that many… people gonna camp out? I’m pretty sure “blind box” means blind like you can’t see what you’re getting but it’s still grocery stuff right?
June 22 at 11am Topeka time is gonna be chaotic. I saw something on TikTok about ALDI blind boxes and thought it was like, a coupon game or something. If they’re shipping to your door then why would they even say pick up in-store? But whatever, I just want the surprise stuff…
