Alannah Keyser didn’t stay quiet for long.
On Saturday, June 28, the 21-year-old Casa Amor bombshell posted a TikTok video addressing the controversy that led to her removal from ‘Love Island USA’ after a resurfaced clip showed her saying the n-word while singing along to Roddy Ricch’s hit song, “The Box.”
“I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it. That was never my intention. The video is from six years ago, and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore,” Keyser said.
She went on to insist she does not support racism or discrimination of any kind. calling the situation a painful turning point and a lesson. Keyser said she found out about the resurfaced content while she was still in the villa—adding that it “really broke my heart” and that she was disappointed she didn’t get the chance to fully show viewers who she is.
“When I first found out that these things were going around online, it really broke my heart,” she said. “But this has definitely been a learning lesson for me, and it sucks that I didn’t get a chance to really show my personality and who I am.”
Before ending her statement, Keyser also addressed what she described as “falsified” screenshots circulating online. She said the alleged messages do not reflect her character and denied discriminating against anyone on the basis of skin color.
That didn’t stop the debate from shifting.
In the caption of her apology video, Keyser responded to another topic that had been fueling discussion since her exit: claims from some viewers that she intentionally avoided kissing Casa Amor cast members KC, Sincere, and Corbin—who are Black—during one of the show’s kissing challenges.
Keyser pushed back, writing that viewers “did not see the full picture” because of editing.
“Remember that reality TV is HEAVILY edited & my chats/kisses with the other boys were unfortunately not aired,” she wrote.
Her comments quickly ignited more reactions on social media, with responses pouring into The Shade Room Teens’ Instagram comment section.
Instagram user @biancaisking wrote, “Don’t apologize now.” Another user, @_giigii, suggested, “How about we all stop using the word so they don’t feel comfortable enough to do it 🤔” Instagram user @diamo0nddd_ posted, “Bye, this is the worst fake apology I’ve ever seen.”
Others questioned her behavior on the show. Instagram user @__its_kel.3 wrote. “when you skipped Corbin. KC. and Sincere I knew something was up.” Instagram user @babuclipss added. “Her caption kinda shows her apology wasn’t genuine… why is her concern that the kisses & chats aren’t aired while addressing a slur.”.
Some reactions also challenged her framing that the slur no longer reflects her. @amari.makayla wrote, “why was it ever in your vocabulary ??” Instagram user @waveyy.tee responded with, “bye we saw you did not want them touching you.”
And while some commenters said the punishment didn’t feel proportionate, Instagram user @therealjust_us wrote, “As a black oerson, I don’t think that’s enough to get kicked off the show I’m sorry. Maybe I’m just a little too easy going though.”
Keyser’s apology may have answered questions—but it also landed in the middle of a conversation that’s still very much alive online.

So she got kicked for a word from 6 years ago… but did anyone even check the real clip?
I don’t buy it. “Not in my vocabulary anymore” is always the same line. If it was truly not her intention then why was it in the video at all.
Replying to you but like… I swear Love Island always does drama for ratings. They say “discrimination” but then edit everything like a movie. Also she was 15-? so people are acting like it was recent.
Roddy Ricch made that song famous, so of course people are gonna sing along?? Like I’m not saying it’s right, but the article says she was singing “The Box” and then everyone jumps to racism instantly. I read “falsified screenshots” too and now I’m confused if it’s even the same situation. She should’ve addressed it sooner though, because now it’s everywhere.
