The knockout phase of the World Cup started with a jolt at SoFi Stadium in L.A. Canada beat South Africa 1-0, the winning goal arriving in stoppage time. Now. as the tournament’s round of 32 schedule expands again after Sunday’s lone match. the numbers on Monday’s tickets have shifted—sometimes dramatically.
For the three games to be played on Monday, ticket prices have dropped. The Brazil-Japan match—set for 1:00 p.m. ET at Reliant Stadium in Houston—now comes with a get-in price of $738. That figure is down 54 percent over the past three days and 66 percent over the last week.
Germany vs. Paraguay at 4:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough carries an even steeper decline. Its get-in price is $487, a 47-percent drop since Friday and a 69-percent fall since last Monday.
Earlier on Monday night, Netherlands will face Morocco in Monterrey, where the backdrop is described as possibly the best in the world. The get-in price there is $707—but there’s a catch: First, fans would have to get to Mexico, and second, no tickets are currently available.
The week of knockout drama gets rolling again on Monday at 1:00 p.m. ET. And with only one game on Sunday, the sudden easing of ticket prices for two of the three Monday matchups makes the wait feel shorter than it has a right to be.
World Cup round of 32 Canada vs South Africa Brazil vs Japan Germany vs Paraguay Netherlands vs Morocco ticket prices
So they just drop prices last minute? Sounds like scalpers won’t like that.
“No tickets available” for Netherlands vs Morocco is such a tease. Like why even post the price then? Also Mexico travel is expensive af.
Wait Germany-Paraguay is only $487 now? That seems too low… I’m pretty sure tickets were way more expensive like a week ago. Maybe it’s fake prices or those “get-in” things aren’t real seats? Either way I might check.
I don’t get it, Canada beat South Africa 1-0 and then ticket prices drop… but for Brazil-Japan and Germany-Paraguay? Like the outcome of one game changes the price for other games? Idk maybe demand just shifted after Sunday. $738 still sounds insane though, even with a “54 percent” drop.
