Alan Jackson Wires Fans Before Final Nashville Show

Alan Jackson’s – The inaugural “5 O’Clock Somewhere Fest” in West Palm Beach brought a star-studded lineup, but Alan Jackson didn’t take the stage—he played a video message instead. With his final performance set for June 27 from Nissan Stadium and plans to benefit the CMT Res
In West Palm Beach, Florida, the music festival began like a party meant for people who show up early—only the man with Alan Jackson’s name attached wasn’t scheduled to perform.
Instead, before Ella Langley took the stage, the festival’s big screens lit up with a video message from Jackson, reaching thousands gathered waterside. He told the crowd, “You know I love South Florida, spent a lot of my life down there. Tonight, I’m in Nashville getting ready for my last show.”
Then he turned toward the memories that brought him there in the first place. “I spent so many days and hours out on the Hullbilly offshore fishing for years and years, and my whole family enjoyed it down there. I hope y’all are enjoying it tonight.”
Jackson’s message wasn’t only nostalgia. It was also instruction for the moment in front of them. “Miss Ella Langley, I know you’ll love seeing her. And the main thing, pop a top, have a good time,” he said—before he broke into “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.”
The scene carried a quiet undertone: for fans who thought they were buying into a final phase of a career, the festival became a bridge to what comes next.
On June 27, Alan Jackson will host “Alan Jackson Last Call—One More for the Road” from Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The final performance is scheduled to include Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and more. It will be televised on NBC.
The show isn’t only about the music—it’s tied to the illness that ended his touring. Last year, Alan Jackson announced his retirement from touring following a diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a hereditary nerve condition. He was first diagnosed in 2011, and in 2021 he told TODAY, “I have this neuropathy and neurological disease. It’s genetic that I inherited from my daddy. … There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years. And it’s getting more and more obvious. And I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing. even in front of the microphone. and so I just feel very uncomfortable.”.
For fans, this detail has always mattered because it explains why the goodbye is arriving in full view. For the broader cause, it connects the final dates to something bigger than a farewell: a portion of the ticket sales from his Last Call show will benefit the CMT Research Foundation.

So he DIDN’T perform at the fest but just played a video? Kinda weird, I thought he was gonna be there in person.
“Pop a top”?? lol like he’s just casually like hey drink a beer while I’m in Nashville. But hey, I guess it is Five O’Clock Somewhere. Charcot-Marie-Tooth sounds scary tho, didn’t know it was genetic.
Wait he’s retiring because of an illness and then the final show is televised on NBC with all these other artists?? That’s actually kinda messed up that people treat it like a big spectacle. Also I’m confused—didn’t he have a different final date already or was that someone else? My cousin said it was 2025.
Charcot-Marie-Tooth… so like it’s from fishing? or from being out on the Hullbilly boat too long?? I saw a clip where he was stumbling, so I figured it was like alcohol or something (I know, probably wrong). But anyway Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan at Nissan Stadium sounds like they’ll just replace him and move on, sad. Also “CMT Res” like CMT the channel? or what even is that, I’m lost.
