Agricultural Exhibition opens this week: pigs, gardens and Lumberjack show

Bermuda’s 85th Annual Agricultural Exhibition opens Thursday, 23 April, featuring animals, baking, gardens, and the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show—plus the return of pigs.
An agricultural celebration is set to return to Bermuda’s Botanical Gardens this week, with final checks completed ahead of the doors opening to the public.
The Minister of Public Works and Environment, the Hon Jaché Adams, JP, MP, toured the Botanical Gardens as preparations wrapped up for the opening of the 85th Annual Agricultural Exhibition on Thursday, 23 April.. The visit was a last look at the grounds and the exhibits planned for this year’s event.
During the walkabout, officials from the Department of Parks guided the Minister through a wide range of entries expected to define the show’s mix of farm life and community creativity.. Visitors can expect live chickens and rabbits, poultry exhibits, and other animal displays.. Just as central to the atmosphere will be arts and crafts, gardens and plants—along with roses, bakery items, vegetables, and food presentations.
The Agricultural Exhibition is also designed to reflect more than just the countryside.. This year’s programme continues to showcase Bermuda’s agriculture and horticulture, alongside baking, craftsmanship, student work, and community talent.. For regular families, that blend is part of the draw: it’s familiar, but each year still brings new displays to browse and compare.
One of the most talked-about moments this year is the return of pigs, a traditional feature that many visitors associate with the show’s character.. Alongside that, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show is expected to be another headline attraction, performing daily in the Lower Ring and giving the exhibition a strong live-entertainment component.
Why it matters for the wider community is fairly simple.. Events like this gather different parts of Bermuda in one place—people who raise animals, grow plants, bake for competitions, build crafts, and students who take part in display work.. That kind of visibility can help sustain local skills and encourage new participation, especially when the event remains well-supported year after year.
There is also a practical angle to the timing and access.. With the grounds open daily from 8:00 a.m.. to 6:00 p.m.. and the exhibition houses open from 9:00 a.m.. to 6:00 p.m., the schedule gives families room to fit visits around daily routines.. Admission is set at $10 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $5 for children under 16, with free entry for children aged 5 and under.
For those planning ahead, tickets are available electronically in advance at gpass.bm, or can be purchased on site upon arrival. The Lower Ring performance runs daily, aligning with the exhibition’s core hours so visitors can build their day around both browsing and the show.
Minister Adams said the final tour confirmed the exhibition is ready to welcome the public.. He pointed to the range of entries—from animals and baked goods to gardens, vegetables, roses, and crafts—as evidence of the preparation behind each display.. The message from the Botanical Gardens inspection, in effect, was that the exhibition has been put together with enough care to feel complete from the moment the gates open.
The 85th Annual Agricultural Exhibition runs Thursday, 23 April through Saturday, 25 April 2026.. With pigs back in the mix and the Lumberjack show scheduled daily, the week ahead looks built for both long-time attendees and first-time visitors who want a full snapshot of Bermuda’s agriculture, creativity, and community pride..
