Adventure Time: Side Quests premieres June 29 on Hulu

Adventure Time: Side Quests arrives Monday, June 29, streaming on Hulu and Disney+, with all 20 episodes debuting and a cast led by Sasha Knight as Finn the Human.

Monday, June 29 is the day fans of Adventure Time get their next reunion with Finn the Human and Jake the Dog—only this time, it’s a new spinoff called Adventure Time: Side Quests, built for the Land of Ooo’s earliest days.

The premiere lands on Hulu and Disney+. Disney+ and Hulu are also required to watch; there’s no free shortcut through either platform.

The original Adventure Time first made its Cartoon Network debut in 2010. Over its eight-year run. the series won eight Emmys and carved out a loyal audience with its mix of mystical quests and recurring threats—whether that meant battling evil as Ice King loomed. helping Princess Bubblegum with a mad-science experiment. or roaming the Nightosphere with Marceline the Vampire Queen.

Adventure Time: Side Quests will follow the series’ brotherly core from the start, according to the synopsis as it appears on IMDb: “Follows the early days of Finn the Human and Jake the Dog’s brotherly bond, embarking on epic quests together and hanging out with familiar faces along the way.”

All 20 episodes will premiere on Hulu and Disney+ on Monday, June 29. Each episode is about 11 minutes long.

The cast includes mostly recurring voices, alongside some new additions. The biggest change is the voice actor for Finn the Human. In the new series. Finn is voiced by Sasha Knight. known for his role as Joe in the 2020 film “Cowboys.” In the original series. Finn was voiced by Jeremy Shada. who has since aged out of the role.

IMDb lists the remaining cast as: John DiMaggio as Jake the Dog, Tom Kenny as Ice King, Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum, Olivia Olson as Marceline the Vampire Queen, Niki Yang as BMO, and Pendleton Ward as Lumpy Space Princess.

If you want to revisit where it all started before the spinoff drops, the first 10 seasons of Adventure Time are available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

  1. Wait it’s June 29 and it’s on Hulu AND Disney+? so like… do I need both to watch? That seems dumb.

  2. Sasha Knight as Finn? I don’t know why but that makes me mad lol. Jeremy Shada was Finn. They shoulda just kept him til the end.

  3. I thought it said 20 episodes but like 11 minutes each so that’s only a couple hours right? Also “Land of Ooo’s earliest days” like is it a prequel or just random side quest stuff? And why do they keep saying Disney+ and Hulu are required like I don’t got time for subscriptions

  4. So it’s a spinoff but it’s basically the first seasons again? I’m confused because it says go back to seasons 1-10 on Hulu/Disney+ but also “all 20 episodes” drop Monday. If Finn is voiced by Sasha Knight (from Cowboys) does that mean the whole show tone changed? I’ll probably try it anyway, but if it doesn’t sound right I’m out.
