LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon was ejected from her team’s matchup against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday at Michelob Ultra Arena.
The fifth-year coach appeared to be arguing a no-call after Dream forward Angel Reese missed a midrange jumper with 5:06 remaining in the second quarter. That drew Hammon’s first technical as the Dream had a 33-29 lead.
Hammon then exited the sideline and charged towards officials on the court in frustration. She had to be held back by her assistant coaches and high-fived players and other team personnel as she headed toward the locker room after receiving her second technical foul in quick succession.
Assistant coach Charlene Thomas-Swinson took over in Hammon’s absence.
It’s Hammon’s first ejection since the Aces lost to the Los Angeles Sparks on June 9, 2024.
