For a lot of shoppers, the under-$1,000 laptop hunt doesn’t feel like shopping—it feels like compromise. Memory and storage costs have been creeping up across tech, and laptops aren’t immune. So when Acer’s Swift Go 16 AI shows up for $899.99 at Best Buy. down from its usual list price of $1. 549.99. it lands like a rare break in the pattern.

The model on sale is the Acer Swift Go 16 AI. It’s built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor, paired with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB SSD. The display is a 16-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200. It uses a 16:10 aspect ratio—meant to show more at once—and the hinge offers a 180-degree range so you can dial in a comfortable viewing angle.

Acer also goes heavy on the everyday details. The multi-touch touchpad is topped with a Corning Gorilla Glass layer. and the keyboard includes backlighting while also squeezing in a numpad. It’s not positioned as a gaming machine—its integrated Intel graphics aren’t described as great for serious gaming—but it’s framed as enough power for titles like Balatro.

Battery life is part of the pitch too. The system is said to run for over 20 hours on a single charge, depending on brightness settings.

Ports are where the Swift Go 16 AI also tries to stand out for its size. Compared with other slim laptops, it includes two USB-A 3.2 ports, two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

  1. 899 is actually a steal right? but i feel like theres gotta be some catch with OLED battery

  2. “Over 20 hours” claims are always fake lol. Still tho 32GB + 1TB for under a grand is kinda wild. Wonder if the AI part means it watches you? like the laptop itself

  3. i clicked because the title says Swift Go 16 but the article mentions Swift 16 AI photo correction?? so which one is it. also 180-degree hinge sounds unnecessary like my laptop already does that, i guess

  4. I saw this and thought it was a gaming deal for some reason. Intel integrated graphics “not for serious gaming” yeah no kidding, but Balatro is like a phone game anyway. The ports look good though, i just want more USB-A like why are we still fighting for that
