Acer slips two smart glasses into Computex 2026

Acer smart – Acer has quietly unveiled two smart glasses ahead of Computex 2026: the wired AR Vision GR0 with dual micro OLED displays and optional light shield, and the lighter GI0 AI Glasses that lean more toward AI companion features with Google Gemini.

Acer’s latest move arrives almost like a dare—two pairs of smart glasses, dropped ahead of Computex 2026, and both designed to look wearable rather than experimental.

The more immersive option is Acer’s AR Vision GR0. It uses a wired connection to link to a phone. laptop. or tablet. then projects dual micro OLED displays—one per eye. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 in 2D. rising to 3840 x 1080 in 3D. with the company describing it as simulating a 172-inch screen viewed from roughly 20 feet away. At just 69 grams, it’s also positioned as light for a wired AR setup.

Acer says buyers can choose an optional detachable light shield and myopia magnetic lens support. aiming to make the device more practical than typical offerings in this category. The AR Vision GR0 is compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows, and it does not come with a platform lock-in. In North America, it’s priced at $499.99.

The second product, Acer GI0 AI Glasses, takes a different route. They’re built closer to Meta’s Ray-Ban style smart glasses than to a full AR headset. These glasses use wireless connectivity and connect to a phone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Instead of a separate AR display experience. the GI0 focuses on onboard AI capabilities—using Google Gemini as its AI assistant.

Acer lists a 12MP camera for first-person photo and video capture. along with real-time AI translation. live captions. and voice recording. All of the data is stored on the device’s 32GB onboard storage. For compatibility, Acer says the glasses work with Android and iOS through the Acer AspireSync companion app. The frames weigh just 46 grams, and in North America the GI0 is priced at $299.99.

What Acer is doing with these two launches is clear: it’s not just joining the smart-glasses conversation dominated by a few big names—it’s offering two distinct entry points. One is a wired AR experience built around micro OLED displays and cinematic scale. The other is an everyday AI companion built around translation, captions, and recording—complete with Google Gemini running the show.

  1. GI0 has Google Gemini?? That sounds like it’ll be super creepy with the 12MP camera and captions. Like who’s gonna stop it from recording in public. $299 though… tempted lol

  2. Wait the GR0 is wired right? If it’s wired to a phone then it’s not really “smart glasses,” it’s like a dumb accessory for gamers. Also “no platform lock-in” is nice but companies always sneak it in anyway.

  3. I don’t get the 172-inch screen thing, like measured from where? because 20 feet away sounds fake marketing math. Plus 499.99 for wired glasses feels way too high. My cousin just bought Ray-Bans and says they don’t even work half the time, so we’ll see.
