Waterville Valley Resort has broken ground on a new Outdoor Adventure Zone, a year-round recreation destination near Corcoran Pond in the heart of Waterville Valley. The zone will include an 18-hole miniature golf course, maze, aerial adventure course, indoor tyke area, and Adventure & Nordic Center. It will open to the public in spring 2027.
“Waterville Valley has always been a place built around the outdoors,” officials wrote on the project’s website. “The new Outdoor Adventure Zone expands that experience with fresh recreational opportunities designed to bring families together and create more reasons to visit throughout the year.”
Workers have completed the first phase of what officials are calling “a momentous project,” an accessible 18-hole miniature golf course that winds through the area and includes landscaping and water features. Next, builders are installing the concrete and foundation for the Adventure & Nordic Center, called “the center of the project.”
The Adventure & Nordic Center will house guest services, activity check-in, Nordic and mountain bike operations, retail, food, and additional recreation space. It will also include an indoor play area for younger guests to climb and explore.
For those who enjoy getting lost, a “larger than life” Adventure Maze will stand nearly 12 feet tall and stretch more than 60 feet in each direction. Guests will search for four checkpoints in the sprawling maze comprised of green and blue paneling. The maze will include two elevated viewing platforms and a reconfigurable design that can be changed throughout the year.
A three-tier Aerial Adventure Course will feature a Sky Trail and each level will rise about 12 feet. Participants will navigate a variety of elements as they advance higher, including a rolling log, roller rail, Walk the Plank challenge, and more.
For the littlest guests, a Sky Tykes course will include elements positioned just 2 feet 8 inches above the ground. Kids on that course will discover pass-through elements, a roller rail, and more.
The Outdoor Adventure Zone supports the Town of Waterville Valley’s master plan for the Corcoran Pond area, which includes increasing family-friendly recreational activities, strengthening year-round tourism, and bringing economic gains to the community.
Waterville Valley is a four-season resort set on 540 acres that features skiing, Nordic terrain, dining, and lodging options that include country inns, condominiums, and all-suite hotels.
