A 9-year-old boy was found seriously injured after falling from a third-story window in Hanson on Wednesday afternoon, and the moments after that call brought an emergency response that moved fast—then paused for answers.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to a home on Phillips Street at around 12:34 p.m. after receiving a report that a child had fallen from a third-story window, according to a joint statement from Police Chief Michael Casey and Fire Chief Robert O’Brien.
The boy was located at the scene with serious injuries. Paramedics provided immediate treatment and care. From there, he was taken to a helicopter landing zone by ambulance, then flown by medical helicopter to a trauma center in Boston.
Hanson police are investigating the incident. The boy’s identity was not released, and officials did not provide the circumstances surrounding what they described as his apparent fall.

Third-story falls are no joke.
How does a kid even get up that high?? Like was there a screen or something. My heart just dropped reading this.
They say apparent fall, but police never release circumstances… so was it an accident or like, neglect? I’m not even trying to start anything, I just hate the uncertainty. Also flown to Boston?? That’s usually serious.
This is scary. I used to live in an apartment and the windows were always kinda weird, like you could push them open without thinking. I wonder if it was open because of weather or if someone left it unlocked. Hope he’s ok, but they’re acting like it was just random, like kids don’t ever climb…
