The injury hits keep coming for the San Francisco 49ers.

Tight end Jake Tonges left the game in the second quarter against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, Sept. 10, in Australia with a kee injury.

The 49ers initially listed Tonges as questionable to return but early in the third quarter ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

Tonges first attempted to walk off on his own but appeared to have trouble and went back down on the field before being attended to by medical personnel.

The 49ers earlier in the game lost rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling, who was carted off after being hurt.

Tonges, 27, re-signed with the 49ers in March on a two-year, $8 million contract. He spent the previous three years with the team but served his most significant role in 2025, when he helped fill the void left by George Kittle landing on injured reserve after the opening week. He finished the year with 34 catches for 293 yards and five touchdowns.
