David Foster Foundation adds stars to Victoria anniversary concert

The David Foster Foundation has announced additional performers for the 40th Anniversary David Foster & Friends Concert, set to take place in Victoria’s Inner Harbour on Aug. 8. Newly announced guests include Grammy Award-winning singer CeeLo Green, known for hits such as ‘Crazy’ and ‘Forget You,’ and vocalist Loren Allred, whose performance of ‘Never Enough’ from The Greatest Showman earned international recognition. International recording artist Sheléa has also been added to the lineup. The free public concert is part of the foundation’s 40th anniversary celebrations

and will be led by David Foster, the 16-time Grammy Award-winning producer, songwriter and foundation founder. Celebrity co-hosts Erich Bergen and Melissa Peterman will join the event, along with additional guests and performances that are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Previously announced performers include Josh Groban, Katharine McPhee, The Tenors, Pia Toscano and Daniel Emmet. The artists will perform alongside the Victoria Symphony during the evening concert. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., with organizers encouraging attendees to arrive early. Large LED

screens will be placed throughout the Legislature grounds and surrounding viewing areas to provide improved sightlines for spectators. According to the foundation, the concert is intended as a way to give back to the Victoria community while raising awareness of its work supporting families with children undergoing life-saving organ transplants. The event forms part of a large anniversary celebration weekend that will also include a gala and other activities. VIP packages offering access to the gala, concert and premium seating are available through the foundation.

  1. So is this concert in Victoria, B.C. or like Victoria Texas? I saw “Inner Harbour” and my brain just rebooted. Either way, I love that they’re doing it for organ transplants but I hope traffic doesn’t ruin the whole day.

  2. Loren Allred is the one from Greatest Showman right? I’m confused because I thought that song was like already super famous and somehow it’s “earned international recognition” like… everybody knows it. Also “free public concert” but VIP packages exist so does that mean regular people get kicked out later or what?

  3. They keep saying it’s to give back and raise awareness but it still feels like a big celebrity thing. LED screens everywhere sounds nice though, I guess. Also I saw Josh Groban and Katharine McPhee listed before—so is Daniel Emmet new or did they just re-add him? If it starts at 7:30 I’m showing up at 7 like an adult would, unless the “arrive early” part is secretly just for VIP.
