The Arizona Cardinals will continue training camp without safety Joey Blount and tight end Kenny Yeboah after placing both players on injured reserve, ending their 2026 seasons.
Blount suffered his injury during a practice earlier this week after returning from neck surgery. The safety had been expected to contribute primarily on special teams while serving as a backup in Arizona’s safety group. His absence now creates an opening on special teams as the Cardinals prepare to finalize their 53-man roster.
Arizona’s top safety options remain Budda Baker, Andrew Wingard and Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, with Kitan Crawford positioned as the fourth safety. Isaiah Oliver could also move up the depth chart.
Yeboah suffered a hamstring injury Thursday during the Cardinals’ Hall of Fame Game. The 27-year-old was listed as Arizona’s fourth tight end behind Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins and Teagan Quitoriano. Rivaldo Fairweather and Jameson Geers are now in line for additional opportunities at the position.
Yeboah went undrafted out of Ole Miss in 2021 and began his NFL career with the New York Jets. He appeared in nine games for the Jets in 2024, recording five receptions for 47 yards and one touchdown.
Blount and Yeboah join PJ Mustipher, Kaleb Proctor and Jaden Davis on Arizona’s injured reserve list. Josh Sweat, Garrett Williams and Tip Reiman remain on the physically unable to perform list.
The Cardinals return to work Sunday for their annual Red-White practice before traveling to Las Vegas on Thursday for their second preseason game against the Raiders.
