Zoey Deutch Brings Fiancé and Parents to Premiere

Zoey Deutch stepped onto the AMC The Grove carpet with her fiancé Jimmy Tatro and her parents, Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch, for the Tuesday (June 23) premiere of her new movie, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass.
Zoey Deutch didn’t just show up for her movie premiere—she showed up with her whole corner of support.
On Tuesday. June 23. the 31-year-old actress walked the carpet at AMC The Grove in Los Angeles alongside her fiancé Jimmy Tatro and her parents. actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch. The night was all about Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, in which Deutch plays the title character. The comedy heads to theaters on July 10.
The story follows small-town hairdresser Gail Daughtry, who is engaged to her high school sweetheart, Tom. Everything shifts when a trip to a book signing sets Tom up to meet—and sleep with—Gail’s “celebrity pass.” Devastated by the betrayal. Gail impulsively turns to her friend Otto for a trip to Los Angeles. There. a psychic tells Gail that the only way to save her marriage is to “even the scales” with her own celebrity pass: Jon Hamm.
From there. Gail and Otto throw themselves into an “epic journey through Tinseltown. ” teaming up with a talent agency assistant. a paparazzo. and actor John Slattery as they search for Hamm. As they get closer to finding the elusive star. they collide with celebrities and end up being hunted by a group of Italian assassins.
The movie arrives with momentum already behind it. Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass previously premiered at the Sundance Film Festival back in January. It’s directed by David Wain.
On the carpet. the cast and crew came out in full force—though Hamm and Slattery couldn’t attend in person. Their absence was covered by cardboard cutouts of them. Still. Zoey made sure the focus stayed on the ensemble: she was joined by co-stars Joe Lo Truglio. Ken Marino. Mather Zickel. and Kerri Kenney-Silver. along with director David Wain.
Deutch’s summer slate is crowded as well. She’s currently in the #1 movie on Netflix, the rom-com Voicemails for Isabelle. She also voices a character in the new animated film Minions & Monsters, which opens in theaters on July 1.
