YouTube TV, DirecTV subscribers have 12 days to file claim for part of $50 million Disney settlement

A class-action lawsuit against the Walt Disney Co. alleges the company “violated federal antitrust law and various state antitrust and consumer-protection laws by engaging in various forms of conduct” to force streaming services YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream to raise their subscription prices, according to the settlement website.

The deadline for filing a claim is Sept. 8, according to the settlement website.

Eligible individuals can file a claim by submitting a claim form online via the settlement website or mailing a claim form to the following address:

Claim forms must be submitted or postmarked by Sept. 8.

Customers who purchased a YouTube TV subscription from April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2026, are eligible to file a claim. Those who purchased a DirecTV streaming live pay TV subscription (including DirecTV Stream, DirecTV Now, and AT&T TV Now) from April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2026, also are eligible to receive a payment from the settlement.

For customers who have both a YouTube TV and a DirecTV Stream subscription and would like to receive a cash payment for each subscription, they can submit one claim form containing information for both subscriptions, according to the settlement website.

Eligible subscribers will receive a cash payment proportional to the length of their YouTube TV and/or DirecTV Stream subscriptions, according to the settlement website.

Payments will be provided after the settlement is approved by the court and becomes final. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2027.
