Fifty-two teenagers demonstrated their physical and intellectual capabilities during the Zhas Sarbaz patriotic competition held in the Aktobe region.
The Zhas Sarbaz patriotic competition concluded in the Aktobe region this week, drawing 52 teenagers eager to prove their mettle in a series of rigorous challenges.
Participants gathered in the home village of the legendary hero Aliya Moldagulova, beginning their day by paying tribute and laying flowers at her monument to honor her enduring legacy. This solemn start set the tone for a day focused on discipline and national pride.
This event highlights how structured military-style training programs serve as a vital bridge between historical memory and the development of future civic responsibility among teenagers.
Following the ceremony, the youth moved into active competition, undergoing assessments in marching drills and physical conditioning. The organizers also implemented a quiz component to evaluate the participants’ intellectual preparedness alongside their physical fitness.
These varied tasks were designed to push the teenagers beyond their comfort zones. By combining intellectual testing with strenuous activity, the organizers aimed to provide a comprehensive view of what it takes to serve as a capable and informed defender of the nation.
Local authorities noted that the core mission of this event is to cultivate a deep sense of patriotism and resilience in the younger generation.. According to regional maslikhat deputy Marat Koilybaev, consistent efforts are required to foster the bravery and honor necessary for young people to grow into capable citizens.
Koilybaev emphasized that love for one’s country is often forged during these formative experiences.. He noted that when young people face and overcome obstacles, or learn to handle the responsibilities associated with defense, they develop an internal strength that will serve them well throughout their lives.
As the competition drew to a close, the top-performing teams and individual participants were recognized for their dedication and skill. The atmosphere remained focused on achievement, leaving a lasting impression on the teenagers involved.
Such competitions function as essential incubators for character building, proving that practical engagement in patriotic activities is more effective than passive education alone.
