Xreal Aura – Reservations for Xreal and Google’s Project Aura glasses are now live for $99, ahead of a full launch expected this Fall across the US, UK, Japan, Canada, and South Korea. Preorders placed within a two-week launch offer come with a $199 credit toward the purch
For anyone who’s been waiting for Google’s Android XR push to show up on shelves, today is a small but real shift: Xreal Aura reservations are open, starting at $99.
The Project Aura collaboration between Xreal and Google is now one step closer to something you can buy. Reservations for the second Android XR device—now dubbed the Xreal Aura—are available starting today, with a full launch expected sometime this Fall in the US, UK, Japan, Canada, and South Korea.
That timeline matters because it follows Google’s first Android-powered XR product, the Samsung Galaxy XR headset. It launched at $1,799 in October 2025. With the Aura, the price is still not fully confirmed—Google has previously described it as “a headset masquerading as glasses.”
What is clear right now is how the company plans to get it into customers’ hands. Best Buy will be the first in-store retail partner when the Xreal Aura becomes available.
Xreal is also laying out a deposit-style launch offer. Reserving within a two-week launch offer will earn customers a $199 credit toward the launch purchase later this year, described as “saving you $100 on the final price.”
The specs being shared with the preorder announcement add another reason people are paying attention. Xreal says the Xreal Aura weighs under 95 grams and runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip. Qualcomm’s latest XR platform is positioned as the engine behind the glasses’ Android XR experience.
Qualcomm’s XR head, Ziad Asghar, framed the hardware pairing as a route to performance and experience gains, saying the chip, together with Google’s Android XR, is meant to meet demands for “better immersive experiences, higher performance, greater intelligence, and improved power optimization.”
One more detail could surface before the Fall launch actually arrives. Xreal plans to showcase the Aura glasses at Augmented World Expo. which is scheduled to run between June 15th and June 18th in Long Beach. California—an event that often serves as a spotlight before products reach the retail stage.
For now, the preorder window gives buyers their first foothold, even if the final Aura price still isn’t fully in hand. The offer is simple enough: reserve early, take the $199 credit, and wait for the glasses to arrive later this year.
