WSFA obtains preliminary crash report in double-fatal I-85 crash in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A preliminary crash report is shedding some light on the collision that claimed two lives and injured a third person over the weekend.

Alyshia Rushing, 26, and Landon Dunn, 20, the drivers of both vehicles, were killed Saturday between the Taylor Road and Chantilly Parkway exits of Interstate 85.

A crash report obtained by WSFA 12 News shows that Rushing was driving the wrong way on I-85. Her 2013 Kia Sorento was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it slammed into Dunn’s 2015 Toyota Tacoma shortly after 2 a.m.

The crash report does not indicate how fast the vehicles were traveling at the time but notes it was a head-on collision.

The report indicates testing is still pending on autopsies and toxicology reports for both victims from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.

Rushing, a Tuskegee resident, was a social media content creator with nearly 540,000 followers under the TikTok handle “Mama-A.” A GoFundMe has been set up for her family.

Dunn, a Greenville resident, was serving the nation as a U.S. Marine, according to a GoFundMe set up by a family friend.
