Wrestling Star Joe Doering Dead At 44

Wrestling star Joe Doering died at 44, after more than a decade battling brain cancer. Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced his passing on June 26, sharing that he entered hospice care earlier this month.
Joe Doering’s wrestling career was never just about the ring—it was also about returning, again and again, when his body told him to stop. On June 26, at 9:13 AM, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling shared that the wrestler “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.” He was 44.
Doering had been battling brain cancer for more than a decade. His first diagnosis came in 2016, when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent surgery to have the mass removed. In 2022, the cancer returned, and he had another procedure.
Late last year, Doering was diagnosed with a third brain tumor. He entered hospice care earlier this month, and his illness ultimately led to his death on Friday.
Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s statement struck a balance between grief and reflection: “Though his time on this earth lasted only 44 years. Joe packed a thousand years’ worth of living into every one of them.” The announcement also said Doering is survived by his beloved wife. Lindsay. along with his family. and it extended condolences to “countless friends and devoted fans around the world” who will remember his “strength. courage. and spirit.”.
Before the cancer battles, Doering was already known across multiple wrestling worlds. Along with his Total Nonstop Action Wrestling fame. he also had popularity in All Japan Pro Wrestling. where he was a champion in the promotion as well. He entered professional wrestling in 2004. and he also had a brief stint in WWE’s developmental Florida Championship Wrestling in 2010. competing under the ring name Drake Brewer.
