A hotel guest was left hurt on a stairway while the ninth-floor room where the shots were fired sat behind locked doors—Sunday morning at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing.
Police said a 25-year-old man was shot and seriously wounded, and that a 25-year-old woman is in custody. Officers arrived about 10:20 a.m. at the hotel in the 200 block of South Columbus Boulevard. Police said the woman identified herself as the shooter and surrendered her weapon.
The shooting happened inside a room on the ninth floor, police said. Officers described the incident as one that was evidently preceded by a “physical altercation.” Police said the alleged shooter suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Investigators are also looking into reports of “domestic disputes” between the man and the woman.
The victim was found on a hotel stairway not far from the room where the shooting occurred, police said. Medics transported him to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Police said his condition was upgraded from critical to stable.
Police did not name either the shooting victim or the suspect, and no charges were specified. An investigation remained ongoing.
The timeline leaves little room for ambiguity about where the violence happened—inside a ninth-floor room—and where its aftermath landed. By the time police arrived. the woman had already turned herself in. surrendered the weapon. and was being treated for injuries. while the wounded man—found nearby on the stairs—was rushed to a trauma hospital as his condition shifted from critical to stable.

How does someone just shoot a guy in a hotel room and then “turn themselves in”??
So was this like the guest who started it or did police already know? The article keeps saying “physical altercation” which sounds like a fancy way of saying it got outta hand.
Wait the woman was hurt too and they still said she surrendered the weapon, so like she got shot first? Also they said no charges specified, which means nothing really happened right? Idk.
I’m just confused why the victim was on the stairway if it was “behind locked doors” on the ninth floor. Unless the doors weren’t locked?? Or maybe the guy fell out after the shots. Either way hotels need better security because this sounds like domestic dispute gone nuclear.
