Woman dies after assault at Framingham home; man arrested

The 43-year-old man who was arrested was known to the victim, a preliminary investigation reveals.
A woman died after an assault at a Framingham home Thursday afternoon, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said.
Framingham police responded to a Waverly Street home around 12:20 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault and an unresponsive woman, according to the DA’s office.
Officers found a 33-year-old woman dead inside the home, officials said.
Flavio Alcantra Dias, 43, was arrested in connection with the assault, the DA’s office said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Framingham District Court on a charge of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.
A preliminary investigation indicates Dias was known to the victim.
The incident remains under investigation by the DA’s office, Framingham Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police detectives.
