Woman arrested after Renfrewshire crash on A737

A woman has been arrested after being injured in a car crash in Renfrewshire. Police are appealing for information following the one-vehicle crash on the A737 near Johnstone. The crash happened around 10.50 pm on Tuesday, June 9, on the northbound carriageway between Johnstone and Kilbarchan and involved a black MG HS. Emergency services attended and the driver, a 41-year-old woman, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. She was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact police. “In addition, anyone with relevant dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch with officers.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3643 of June 9, 2026

  1. Wait she was injured and then arrested?? Like how does that work, was she driving or something. I swear these A737 crashes always end up in drama.

  2. Black MG HS between Johnstone and Kilbarchan… that’s basically always people speeding through there. They said one-vehicle crash but then arrested her for a road traffic offence, so was it like no insurance or are they blaming her even if something else happened?

  3. Why do they need dash-cam footage, can’t police just look at CCTV? Also 10:50 pm northbound… that’s right where the lighting is weird right. Hope she’s okay but arrest feels harsh before they figure out what happened. Incident number and all that, I bet it was because of phone use or weather or idk, just seems like the usual.
