Whoopi Goldberg fakes cries over Donald Trump’s losses

Whoopi Goldberg didn’t just talk about Donald Trump’s latest setbacks on Monday, June 1—she acted them out.
During that day’s installment of The View. Goldberg pretended to fake-cry while pointing out that a judge had recently ordered Trump’s name to be “removed from the Kennedy Center.” She jabbed. “And they blocked his renovation plans. ” tossing in the details of other recent court moves as she performed her exaggerated reaction.
She added that another judge had “temporarily blocked his $1.7 billion so-called ‘anti-weaponization’ fund.” She also brought up former Vice President Mike Pence weighing in over the weekend.
Pence, speaking on Sunday, called the fund “deeply offensive” and encouraged the administration to “drop” the idea completely on NBC’s Meet the Press.
Sunny Hostin—who has criticized the anti-weaponization fund in the past—responded to the wider backlash in her own way, saying she found it “really special” that 35 “former federal judges” chose to “get involved, write a letter, and say, ‘This cannot and shall not pass.’”
Hostin then linked the effort to broader checks and balances, saying, “So, while I’ve been saying all along, ‘There’s no checks and balances happening in the legislative branch, the judicial branch, the lawyers, they are fighting.’”
The conversation then turned from courtrooms to stages.
On The View. the co-hosts “bust a move” by dancing to Young MC’s “Bust a Move. ” marking that he is one of several previously-booked artists who will no longer perform at Trump’s Freedom 250 event. Goldberg referenced other high-profile names as well. saying. “I just want to point out that. you know. Bret Michaels. who plays for everybody. and The Commodores who play for everybody – I mean. Martina McBride is not a politicized person.”.
She continued with a blunt accusation about communication, saying of Martina McBride’s decision to drop out, “Y’all made it political because you made it into something it was not supposed to be and you didn’t tell the artists.”
Hostin suggested the performers might have been working from a misunderstanding, pointing to the event’s branding. “There are two commissions,” she said. She explained that “America 250” is a nonpartisan U.S. semi-quincentennial commission founded “like 10 years ago” to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country. She contrasted it with “Freedom 250. ” which she said was started by Trump through an executive order as a White House organization launched by Trump.
Hostin argued that Trump’s growing political fallout is part of the reason artists are backing away. “I think at this point. Trump has become so toxic that no artist wants to become affiliated with him because if they do. they could lose some of their fans. ” she said. “I don’t think they want any of the affiliation.”.
That same theme of losing support and losing ground was also reflected in Trump’s latest comments about the Freedom 250 event itself.
Trump speculated that it might be better to “cancel” the event entirely after railing against the judge who struck down the Kennedy Center name change. In a post shared to Truth Social. he wrote: “Just like I canceled my involvement with the failing and unsafe to be in Kennedy Center. because a Highly Conflicted. Crooked Federal Judge. said that I should not be allowed to spend my time and money in order to MAKE THE CENTER GREAT AGAIN. actually. far greater than it ever was before!”.
He added, “It would have also been nice to see a Republican/Democrat union bring it back to life.”
The View hosts, meanwhile, kept returning to the same through-line—legal blocks, political pressure, and artists stepping back from an event that’s becoming harder to separate from Trump’s battles.

Wait so Whoopi really faked crying? Seems kinda disrespectful honestly, like pick a lane.
I mean Trump loses stuff and she does a cry bit, but then they wanna act like it’s journalism? Also Kennedy Center name change?? like how is that even connected to the fund lol
Is everyone forgetting Whoopi used to be on the right side of things? Fake crying or not, the anti-weaponization thing sounds like a total setup. Plus Pence said it’s offensive so that’s probably enough for me.
I saw a clip like “they blocked his renovation plans” and then the dancing part and I’m just confused. Like are they mad at Trump or laughing at him? The 35 judges letter sounds legit but then Sunny saying checks and balances?? it’s like everyone’s talking in circles.
