Keke Palmer ended up being a no-show at the 2026 Emmy Awards, which took place on Monday night (September 14) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Keke, 33, was announced as a presenter for the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series alongside Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernández, according to Entertainment Weekly. We originally reported Keke as one of many presenters in our initial reporting.
However, by the time the category rolled around, Marcello had taken to the stage solo to award Widow’s Bay director Hiro Murai after a charming bit about saying “hi” to some of the stars he admires from stage like Zendaya, Harrison Ford, and Oscar Isaac—as well as inviting them to his house for dinner!

Keke has won two Emmy Awards already and she’s currently nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards. That ceremony will take place on October 30.
The Nope star is currently nominated for Outstanding Daytime Personality – Non-Daily for the digital series Glam Through the Ages on her KeyTV Network. She was also nominated for Outstanding Daytime Short Form Program as a producer. She got a talk show host nod in 2020 for Strahan, Sara & Keke.
In 2022, Keke won Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for Keke Palmer‘s Turnt Up with the Taylors. She also won for Outstanding Host for a Game Show for Password in 2023 and was nominated again in 2024.
