Waymo driverless cars stall Atlanta neighborhood traffic Friday

Atlanta residents woke up to traffic jams caused by Waymo driverless cars on a quiet cul-de-sac on Friday.
Atlanta residents said their morning started like an ordinary day—until Waymo driverless cars began clogging the streets.
On Friday, driverless Waymo vehicles took over a quiet cul-de-sac, turning what should have been calm neighborhood driving into a full traffic jam. Witnesses described the unusual sight of autonomous cars stuck in local congestion, prompting concern and curiosity from nearby residents.
Skyler Henry reported the disruption as residents woke up to the unexpected slowdown, with the driverless fleet visibly dominating the area.
The incident raises the kind of practical question communities are starting to ask as autonomous vehicles spread: what happens when a system built for routine drives meets real-world traffic patterns at the wrong moment?

So it’s not “fully driverless” then lol.
I saw something about this and thought it was like robot cars that actually know everything. But if they stalled, that’s literally the opposite of smart.
Idk why people are shocked. When technology meets “real-world traffic,” that’s basically just chaos already, plus a stuck robot car in a cul-de-sac sounds like a nightmare. Are they getting blamed for the jam or is it like the cars are trying to coordinate? I’m just saying, if it can’t handle a basic morning, what happens in an emergency?
Waymo should’ve used the highway not some quiet neighborhood street, like come on. First they stall, then they’re “learning,” and meanwhile people are late to work. Also I bet it’s the same 5G thing everyone keeps talking about, like the towers mess with the GPS or whatever. Can’t wait for someone to tell me this is all normal and safe though.
