watchOS 27 beta 2 arrives for Ultra 3

Apple has finally enabled Apple Watch Ultra 3 owners to install watchOS 27 beta 2. The update brings access to Siri AI and an improved Workout Buddy, but Apple’s early developer build is still a risky choice for mission-critical devices—especially for typical
The wait is over for Apple Watch Ultra 3 owners who were left out when watchOS 27 beta 2 first rolled out.
Developers with an Apple Watch Ultra 3 can now install the second developer beta of watchOS 27. bringing access to Siri AI and an improved Workout Buddy. Apple deployed watchOS 27 beta 2 on June 23. and the update was made available to all compatible models—except the Apple Watch Ultra 3. At the time, the newest and most expensive Apple Watch was inexplicably unable to run the software.
On Thursday, Apple addressed the gap. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 can now be upgraded to the second developer beta of watchOS 27.
To install the beta, users can do it through the Apple Watch app on a paired iPhone. Apple also lays out the conditions for the upgrade: the Apple Watch Ultra 3 must be connected to Wi‑Fi, be on its charger, and have a battery level of at least 50%.
The headline feature in watchOS 27 is access to the long-awaited Siri AI. But the timing matters. WatchOS 27 is still early in its beta testing cycle, which means visual glitches, bugs, or features that don’t behave as expected are possible.
That’s why installing the watchOS 27 beta isn’t advisable for mission-critical devices. For most people wearing an Apple Watch for everyday life—not testing software—watching from the sidelines may be the smarter move.
Apple has said watchOS 27 will be released to the general public in September 2026, alongside the corresponding iOS 27 update.

So it finally works but it’s still beta?? great.
If Siri AI is the big deal then why not just push it normal. I’m not messing with developer beta stuff on my watch, I use it to not die lol.
Wait so my Ultra 3 isn’t getting Siri AI unless it’s on a charger and Wi-Fi and 50% battery? That’s like the dumbest way to roll out an AI feature. Thought it would be immediate like an actual update.
September 2026 for the real release?? That’s forever. I swear Apple always leaves out the newest model for a minute then acts surprised people are mad. Also “Workout Buddy improved” sounds like my watch is gonna judge my steps now, which is already rude enough.
