The life-sized bronze statue, created by artist Amy Goodman, depicts the Queen in her younger years and has been installed in a prominent location near the abbey.
The artwork celebrates Her Majesty’s long association with Romsey, including her links to Broadlands, where she spent part of her honeymoon with Prince Philip.
The unveiling took place on Friday, September 4, attracting residents, community leaders and visitors eager to see the tribute.
Council leaders hope the statue will become a landmark attraction, boosting visitor numbers while honouring a monarch who served for 70 years before her death in 2022.
Romsey Mayor Councillor Colin Burgess said he was “extremely excited” about the unveiling and described it as a fitting way for the town to remember the late Queen.
He said: “I was a great admirer of the late Queen, and it’s very fitting that Romsey should remember her so fittingly with a statue in a prominent place in the town.”
