Warzone support ends for PS4 and Xbox One

Warzone support – Activision is rolling back Call of Duty: Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One in stages: the game will disappear from digital storefronts on June 4, the in-game store will be removed on June 25, and Warzone will stop being playable when Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 begins

Call of Duty players on PS4 and Xbox One are about to feel a slow, familiar kind of cutoff: first the download button goes away, then the shop, and finally the game itself.

Activision has confirmed that Warzone support on the previous-generation consoles will be reduced in stages before ending later this year. The first move lands on June 4, when Warzone will be removed from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital storefronts. After that date, new downloads won’t be available on either platform.

For players who already have Warzone in their libraries, the shutdown isn’t immediate. Activision says the game will remain playable on PS4 and Xbox One through the end of Season 06 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

The next shift comes quickly after the storefront change. On June 25, the Warzone in-game store will be removed on both last-gen versions. COD Points can still be redeemed in the store until then, but once it’s gone, that paid pathway disappears. Gameplay will continue to count toward Battle Pass progression. and players without the paid Battle Pass can still unlock free-tier rewards. including new weapons. during the remaining Black Ops 7 seasons.

The final cutoff is tied to the next content period. Once Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 begins, Warzone will no longer be playable on PS4 or Xbox One.

For PS4 players, the timing is especially jarring. Sony’s Days of Play 2026 sale is live, and while the PS5 console itself doesn’t appear to be discounted, the sale still covers discounted PS5 games, accessories, and PlayStation Plus memberships through June 10.

Activision says players won’t lose Warzone progress if they move to PS5. Xbox Series X|S. or PC using the same linked Activision account. Items bought with COD Points will also carry over. There is a catch: unused COD Points stay tied to the same console family. That means PS4 COD Points can be used on PS5. and Xbox One COD Points can be used on Xbox Series X|S.

Warzone gave PS4 and Xbox One players a long runway after current-gen consoles arrived. That runway is now almost over, and for anyone determined to keep playing the battle royale after this season, newer hardware won’t be optional for long.

  1. Wait June 4 it disappears from the store and then June 25 the shop’s gone… I swear they’re squeezing people. I was gonna buy COD points tomorrow lol.

  2. If you can still play through end of Season 06 then it’s not “ending” yet right? Also I don’t get the COD Points thing—like if my points are on PS4 do they just vanish when Season 1 starts or what?

  3. This is why I don’t trust Activision. They had a whole ads campaign for “carry over progress” but then they always mess up the timing and people lose stuff. Also Days of Play is happening and they’re pushing PS5 but acting like it’s optional… sure.
